February 13th, 2024, Rosh Ha’ayin Israel, and Dublin, Ireland. ASOCS and Druid Software jointly announce their collaboration in developing a validated Location Management Function (LMF) using ASOCS’ Hermes 5G positioning compatible with Druid’s Raemis 5G core.
The latest partnership follows a long-term relationship between the two companies that has previously seen the development of a validated solution incorporating ASOCS’ CYRUS vRAN and Druid’s Raemis 5G core. This new project will take Open RAN-based Private 5G Networks to the next step by offering the same trustworthiness for 5G Precise Positioning Service. It offers enterprises many benefits including utilizing existing Private 5G Network infrastructure, providing the accuracy and reliability needed for most industrial asset tracking use cases, and eliminating investments in the deployment and management of additional dedicated systems currently available on the market. .
“5G Positioning over P5G is a foundational application for mission-critical use cases that leverages the investment already made in the P5G network by enterprises and system integrators. We have a long-standing partnership with Druid that enables us to integrate once and deploy anywhere,” said Mr. Len Schuch, ASOCS’ GM 5G Positioning Services. “This collaboration with Druid on the LMF is a substantial step from moving from Proof of Concept to commercialization.”
