The Role

The ideal candidate for the IT Support role will be working with our organisation in order to assist in resolving IT challenges. Due to the growing demand for our solutions, Druid is expanding its IT department and an exciting opportunity exists to join our team. The successful candidate will be helping with the day to day running of our IT infrastructure, as well as supporting our staff in their IT needs. They will also be working with the Senior IT Administrator to plan and implement different IT projects around the world for our IT infrastructure.

 Responsibilities:

  • Working with a Support Ticket system to track issues and projects.
  • Utilize different tools to manage our different IT infrastructure.
  • Use of GUI and command-line tools to perform basic troubleshooting.
  • Use of scripting languages e.g. BASH, python, etc.
  • Follow team processes and methodologies, using agile techniques and GIT & JIRA tools.
  • Certain duties will involve assisting development and testing teams e.g. setup of test environments, servers, etc.
  • Assist with maintaining the server and network infrastructure.
  • Regular documentation updates for changes or new implementations.
  • Continual learning of techniques and technologies relevant to post.
  • The post holder may be required to perform other duties as appropriate to the post, which may be assigned to him/her from time to time, and to contribute to the development of the post while in office.

The Candidate

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

    • A longing to learn about IT and the ability to research independently.
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.

Experience

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • At least one year experience relevant to the role.
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows and Linux computers.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

    • Experience in the software industry
    • Experience with common network services such as DHCP, DNS, E-mail, etc.
    • Experience with virtualisation products such as VirtualBox, VMWare, KVM, Proxmox.
    • Experience with server and networking infrastructures.
    • Knowledge of open source technologies.
